Enjoy a Rocky Mountain Adventure by Horseback!

Enjoy an unforgettable experience horseback riding in Colorado with our two-hour ride through pinion trees, across Chalk Creek and up Doc Holiday Canyon to the mesa top! Take a journey through the West like never before on our 2-Hour Guided Trail Ride. With calm, trained horses and our experienced staff, our Colorado trail rides through the heart of the Rocky Mountains will be breath-taking!

Highlights of this 2-hour guided trail ride include:

Ride through the pinion trees and go down Pond Hill to the beautiful Chalk Creek and cross it. View the Blue Herons nesting area. They nest there every year and have their babies. Then ride along the Chalk Creek and go up on the ridge. Then, ride the Old Wagon Road from the 1800s as it veers off onto a Colorado trail going up Doc Holiday canyon up to the top of the mesa.

These rides are great for anyone interested in the history of the West. We will be passing through old wagon trails and railroad beds from the late 19th century. Our wranglers, with years of experience, will take the time to cover all of the basic details of trail riding to ensure the experience is maximized for your party.
At the top, you can view the fantastic 14ers, Mt. Harvard, Mt, Yale, Mt. Princeton, Mt. Antero, Mt. Shavano. Coming  back down the trail you will go onto the wagon road and circle around the mountain and down the True Grit Trail. Across the Chalk Creek and down by the old trout pond, it’s like riding through Sherwood Forest and absolutely beautiful. From there, you’ll go up Pond Hill back to the stables.

Don’t wait! A true Western experience is right around the mountain. Enjoy horseback riding near Buena Vista and a short ride from Colorado Springs.
